I work in Multiple Monitors (3 at last count, soon to be 4, with the 4th one being a touch screen MIMO), and what that means is that I often have my Visual Studio 2010 stretched across more then one screen (and yes VS2010 has support for multiple monitors, but still not quite “there” for my way of using it).
Anyways, due to the task bar being on the bottom, I’ve always ended up with on my secondary monitor having some space under the VS, because I don’t want VS to be partially obscured with the task bar. Now I’ve been using Windows 7 since beta 2, and at first I didn’t like the new task bar with just Icon’s on it (and no names), but as I was looking at a ZuneCast someone did of some development work, I noticed that where as the task bar on the side of a monitor had never looked right to me in previous versions of Windows, with Window 7 and just the icon representation of the apps, suddenly it worked!
So today I’m shaking up my world and changing a habit I’ve had since MS first introduced the task bar, I’m moving it to the side!
I’ve been using it less then 2 hours, and already I REALLY like it!
